IRENE S. COX LAUGHLIN

Irene S. Cox Laughlin, 96, of Des Moines died Sept. 13, 1999 at Urbandale Health Center.

On Sept. 18, a graveside memorial service was at Pleasant Township Cemetery in Ewart with Rev. Eldon Pals of Ewart Presbyterian Church officiating.

Mrs. Laughlin was born July 31, 1903 near Ewart, the daughter of Ernest Monroe and Margaret (Hamilton) Cox. She married Bill Blain and the couple farmed near Oskaloosa. She later became the wife of Raleigh Laughlin and they lived in Des Moines. She worked at Dahl's Grocery for several years.

Mrs. Laughlin belonged to the Ewart Presbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two husbands and sisters, Mildred Minnis, Helen Hinojas, Hazel Lynch and Leona Tokle and a brother, Brad Cox.

She is survived by one sister, Pauline Holtz of Urbandale, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Arrangements were by Watts Funeral Home of Montezuma.
