HAUERSPERGER RITES TUESDAY

Henry W. Hauersperger, 64, of Rte. 2, Grinnell, died suddenly Saturday evening while attending a Grange square dance at the Veterans Memorial Building.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Philip J. Ramstad, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.

The son of Adam N. and Elizabeth Christina Kriegel Hauersperger, he was born near Chelsea on July 19, 1910. His family later moved to the Rhodes, Iowa area where he attended rural school. He was married to Elizabeth Jane McClean in 1935 at her father's home. Mr. Hauersperger was a member of the Grinnell United Church of Christ-Congregational, the Newton Square Dance Club and the Victor Grange,of which he was a trustee.

He had farmed near Kellogg and Gilman and for 25 years west of Newburg. The last five years, Mr. and Mrs. Hauersperger had farmed west of Grinnell.

Mr. Hauersperger is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three children, Mrs. Richard (Henrietta) Arment of State Center, William James Hauersperger of Gilman, and Mrs. Larry (Rosemary) Ashing of Grinnell; three brothers, Edward Hauersperger of Kellogg, Sylvester Hauersperger of Newton, and Lloyd Hauersperger of Kellogg; and three sisters, Mrs. Russell (Margaret) Shank of Kellogg, Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Holderness of Newton, and Mrs. Isaac (Anna) Brown of Kellogg. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Floyd Raymond Hauersperger.
