MARION SEE SERVICES HELD

Marion F. See, 64, of Rte. 2, Grinnell, died of cancer Tuesday, March 17, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam Reaves of the Assembly of God Church officiating. Organist was Naomi Reaves.

Pallbearers were Keith Davis, Jack Phipps, Jim Phipps, John Phipps, Roy Rupe and Marion Vogel. Honorary bearers were Clark Brink, Don Butler, Wes Moore, Glenn Phipps, George Reed and Frank Webster.

Graveside rites were conducted by the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit, with burial in the Westfield Cemetery southwest of Grinnell.

He was the son of Missouri "Dude" and Rose Kahler See and was born on Sept. 17, 1922, in Des Moines. The family moved to Grinnell where he attended school.

On June 28, 1942, he was married to Minnie Lucille "Peg" Pagel at Lancaster, Mo. Following their marriage, Mr. See entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Following the war he returned to Grinnell and worked as an independent trucker for many years. In the mid-1960s he began working for Denniston and Partridge Lumber Co. He served as manager for the firm until the Grinnell store was closed, then worked for Denniston and Partridge at Newton. He was a member of the Grinnell American Legion post.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna L. Tiedemann of rural Grinnell and Lucille (Jody) Phipps of rural Grinnell; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Lawrence of Malcom; and two sisters, Evelyn Mitchell of Brooklyn and Betty Bullers of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
