DONA E. SEE SERVICES HELD

Dona Ellen See, 75, of 1523 Sixth Ave., Grinnell, died Tuesday afternoon, April 24, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with additional services scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Konawa, Okla., with burial in Vamosa Cemetery near Konawa.

The daughter of Oscar and Maud Gibbs Comer, she was born March 22, 1909, in Udall, Mo. She was a graduate of Bakersfield, Mo. High School. During World War II she served with the WACS and later was employed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City.

On Dec. 26, 1948, she was married to Charles (Hank) See in Ada, Okla. She was employed as a cook for the Midwest City school system, and the couple later moved to Konawa. Her husband died on Oct. 21, 1973.

On Dec. 31, 1977, she was married to Joe B. See near Montezuma. The couple lived in Grinnell where they were members of the Grinnell Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband; her stepchildren, Paul See of Grinnell and Harold and Ben See, both of Abilene, Texas; 12 step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; three half-brothers, Will Comer of Concord, Calif., Oscar Comer Jr. of Coffield, Mo., and Ray Comer of Hocomo, Mo.; a half-sister, Rosemary Holt of West Plains, Mo.; and her step-mother, Lizzie Comer of West Plains, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; her parents; one brother, Marlyn G. Comer; and oen sister, Reba Hayes.
