DALE E. SEE

Dale Eugene See, 73, of Grinnell died Monday, Dec. 6, at the Mayflower Health Care Center.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Bill Ell of West Liberty Church of Christ officiating. Vocalists were LeRoy and Doris Calvin, and pallbearers were Dwayne Kriegel, Richard Massengale, Rod Massengale, Craig Paulson, Doug See Jr. and Rod See. Burial was in Westfield Cemetery, with veterans ceremonial rites conducted by members of Focht-Tennant American Legion Post of Grinnell.

The son of Michael "Bunk" and Elizabeth Sisnoris See, he was born May 23, 3910, in rural Jasper County. He attended Frogpond country school near Grinnell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

He was married to Janet F. Lawrence May 3, 1941, in Kirksville, Mo. The couple lived in Grinnell, and he worked for the One Minute Factory in Kellogg. He later was employed by Maytag Co. in Newton, retiring in 1982 after 30 years. He was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Janet of Grinnell; his children, Douglas E. Sr. of Grinnell and Dianna F. Sivertson of Fargo, N.D.; two brothers, Harry of Grinnell and Junior of Newton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joe, Floyd, Raymond and Clifford; and three sisters, Juanita Calvert, Loretta Aten and Nettie See.
