MARION VOGEL, 45

Marion Vogel, 45, of Denver, Colo. and formerly of Grinnell, died suddenly Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at his home.

Services and burial at Westfield Cemetery, southwest of Grinnell, are pending at this time.

Marion was born Oct. 22, 1962, in Grinnell, the son of Marion Vincent "Stanley" and Donna Lee See Vogel. He was raised in the Rock Creek Lake area and was a 1980 graduate of Grinnell High School. He later was a 1982 graduate of Marshalltown Community College. He worked in Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas, and most recently Colorado, as a mechanic and carpenter.

Marion was a great wood craftsman and auto mechanic who lived his life to the fullest. He loved motorcycles and the open road. "No moss grew under his feet!" While living in Missouri, he belonged to the Christian Church and had a great faith in God.

Survivors include his parents, Gean and Donna Tiedemann of Kellogg; one brother, Clayton (Lisa) Tiedemann of Grinnell; one sister, Tammy (Chad) Means of Kellogg; his nephew and niece, Thaddeus and Halee Means of Kellogg; his grandparents, Clayton and Wannetta Tiedemann of Sarcoxie, Mo.; several aunts and uncles, Jody and Rich Phipps of Kellogg, Greg and Barb Tiedemann of Lake St. Louis, Mo., and Joyce and Harold Ingles of Palo; a cousin, Shane (Nancy) Phipps of Carlsbad, N.M.; three children, Jennifer, Steven, and Aubry Vogel; and his extended Rock Creek family.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Stanley Vogel; his grandparents, Marion and Lucille "Peg" See; and his great-grandmother, Emma Pagel.
