JEANETTE VOGEL

Jeanette M. Vogel, 90, of rural Malcom died Frday, May 16, at St. Francis Manor.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Joe Rogers officiating. Organist was Pat Shaw, and casket bearers were Jeff Vogel, Mike Vogel, Greg Jansen, Pat White, Jim White and David Vogel.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn, with the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Charles and Mary Woltman Holoubek, she was born Nov. 11, 1906, at Davenport. The family moved to Iowa City, and she received her education at St. Mary's School there. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa and continued her education following graduation. She then taught school at Solon, New Albin and the Red Oak area.

She was married to Frank A. Vogel Jan. 27, 1940, in Iowa City. They farmed north of Malcom until their retirement. She became a resident of St. Francis Manor here in September 1989.

Mrs. Vogel was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

She is survived by two sons, Jim of Davenport and Larry of Malcom; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband and two sisters.
