MEMORIAL SERVICES HELD
FOR BERTHA MAE GROSS

Memorial services for Bertha Mae Gross, 69, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. June 25 at the Steffy Funeral Home by the Rev. George S. Snyder. She died June 22 at St. Francis hospital.

Miss Alice Underwood played appropriate selections. Members of the Rebekah lodge attended in a group. Burial was in the Masonic-IOOF cemetery with O.C. Mason, Ross McDonald, C.E. Olson, William Welsh, Harold Wiedow and Ben Purdum as casketbearers.

A daughter of Rosa Eigler and Andrew P. Gross, She was born near Deep River Sept. 29, 1890, and lived there until moving to Montezuma 55 years ago. She was a graduate of Montezuma High School, a Past Noble Grand of Vashti Rebekah lodge and a member of the Methodist church. She worked in the William N. Stone dry goods store and was a deputy county treasurer for several years.

Surviving are a brother, William Gross, Montezuma, a sister, Mrs. Clara Walters, Lon Angeles, four nieces, other relatives and friends.
