Edna Mary Reams, 100, of Grinnell died Saturday, Dec. 19, at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Carol Wehr, pastor of the Sheridan United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler, and casket bearers were Floyd Heishman; Robert Overturf; Larry, Ronald and William Reams; and Clifton and Dale Schultz. Burial was in Sheridan Cemetery.

She was the daughter of Otto and Sophie Luttman Schultz and was born April 15, 1898, in Sheridan Township. She was raised on the family farm, attended rural school and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1916.

She was married to Wayne S. Reams Feb. 4, 1920, at her parents' home. The couple farmed for over 40 years in Sheridan Township, moving to Grinnell in 1960.

Mrs. Reams assisted her husband with the farm operation and was also active with 4-H and church work. As a 4-H leader, she worked with young people at the county and state fairs. She also founded the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Merle; and four brothers, Wilbur, Raymond, Clifton and Omar Schultz.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Sheridan Methodist Church.
