SERVICES HELD

Mrs. Hollis (Elva) Adams, 51, of 1220 S.16th Ave. E., Newton, died Wednesday afternoon at Skiff Memorial Hospital there.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Presbyterian Church in Newton, with the Rev. William W. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

The daughter of Oliver O. and Lily Walkup Bell, she was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Grinnell. She was married to Hollis Adams Sept. 21, 1940.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the Mariposa Grange and the Zoar Church.

Survivors include a son, Larry of rural Kellogg; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Karen) Versteeg of Newton and Janice Adams at home; three grandchildren, Michael Wayne Adams and Sheryl Ann Adams of Kellogg and Holly Benita Versteeg of Newton; five sisters, Mrs. Ed (Minnie) Green and Mrs. Wilma Garwood, both of Grinnell, Mrs. Delbert (Arlene) Rutherford of Newton, Mrs. Lloyd (Evelyn) Simpson of Montezuma, and Mrs. Max (Eva) Jones of Grinnell; and four brothers, Vern Bell of Marshalltown, Clarence Bell of Malcom, George Bell of Las Animas, Colo., and Dale Bell of Popejoy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a sister.
