ELLEN BECKMAN

Ellen Beckman, 84, of Orange City, Fla., formerly of Kellogg, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines. Visitation will be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens.

She was born in Des Moines Aug. 8, 1921, to Charles and Augusta Conradi Leonard. She resided in Kellogg while she was an administrative assistant with General Telephone company (GTE) in Grinnell prior to her retirement in 1989. She moved to Florida in 1996. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Jan Sprague of Deltona, Fla.; two sons Gary Beckman of Des Moines and Russ Beckman of Brooklyn; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
