MYRTLE M. OSBORN

Myrtle M. Osborn, 80, of Grinnell died Sunday, Oct. 15, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Stewart officiating. Organist was Denise Baustian, and soloist was Roger Henderson.

Pallbearers were Rodrick Osborn, Rochelle Osborn, Scott Saunders, Trude Grosenbach, Terry Saunders, Sally Grosenbach, Tari Osborn, Michael Wilkins and Kristi Kinnaird. Honorary bearers were Mary Andes, Donovan Evans, Dorothy Farmer, Lester and Vera Osborn, Gerald Sampson and Gussie Sarver.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Mark and Jessie Evans Holmes, she was born Jan. 29, 1915, in Grinnell. She was a 1934 graduate of Grinnell High School and worked for several years at the Grinnell Glove Factory.

She was married to Raymond K. Osborn Oct. 20, 1940, in Grinnell, and the couple farmed for many years. She remained on the farm following her husband's death in 1986 and moved to Grinnell in the spring of 1993. Mrs. Osborn was a member of the First Baptist Church, the American Baptist Women and the Just-A-Mere Club.

Surviving are her children, Roger of Kellogg, Carolyn Grosenbach of Grinnell, Ronald of Malcom and Barbara Saunders of Grinnell, and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one granddaughter.
