RITES HELD FOR MRS. SIECK

Josephine M. Sieck, 73, of 914 East St., Grinnell, died Monday morning, Oct. 11, at her home.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Epperson of the Grinnell Christian Church officiating. Organist was Julia Pearce. Pallbearers were Randy Lidtka, Dale Reitzler, Rex Squiers, Brent Sieck, Gary Sieck and Glen Sieck. Flower bearers were Doris Edgington and Dorothy Kenney. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.

Memorials in Mrs. Sieck's name may be made to the Heart Fund.

The daughter of George and Mary Ann Moyer Kriegel, she was born May 24, 1909, near Brooklyn. She was married to Louis F. Sieck on Sept. 9, 1925, at Montezuma. Mr. and Mrs. Sieck farmed in Sheridan Township for 10 years and later moved to a farm southeast of Grinnell. They retired from farming and moved to Grinnell in 1967.

Mrs. Sieck was a member of the Harmony Ladies Aid, the M and M Club and the Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by her husband; her children, Melvin L. Sieck, Paul J. Sieck, Lloyd A. Sieck and Ronald E. Sieck, all of Grinnell, and Wayne F. Sieck of Amarillo, Texas; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Sylvester Kriegel of Brooklyn; and three sisters, Margaret Low of Tama, Leota Grattan of San Jose, Calif., and Evalena Rutledge of Tama.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren; and three brothers, George Kriegel, Wilbur Kriegel and Gerald Kriegel.
