Nov. 30, 2009Teresa Grace Henle Kriegel died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Mayflower Home in Grinnell following a brief illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Nov. 19, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn with the Rev. Brian Shepley, the Rev. Philip Ryan and the Rev. Mr. Bill Olson, deacon, officiating. Organist was Marilyn Kriegel and vocalist was Lex Alig. Casket bearers were Laverne Kriegel, Garland Roth, Marcel Roth, Mike Henle, Randy Olson and Paul Kriegel. Honorary bearers were her grandchildren. A scripture service was held Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Kloster Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn.
She was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Tama County, the daughter of Frank and Nettie Gettis Henle. She attended school in Tama, and was united in marriage with Melvin Eugene Kriegel on April 15, 1941, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama.
She is survived by four sons and nine daughters: Carol VanRenterghem of Brooklyn; Lyle Kriegel of Booneville, Ind.; Anthony Kriegel of Brooklyn; Gerry Moore of Fort Dodge; Loretta Grant of Athens, Tenn.; Helen Henry of Newton; Lorraine Willett, Annette Goodrich and Joyce Anderson of Brooklyn; Marilyn D'Aguanno of Montezuma; Joe Kriegel and Pauline Plants of Brooklyn; and Ed Kriegel of Grinnell; as well as 46 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one granddaughter.
