Ezekiel H. Bushnell, a pioneer of Poweshiek county, passed away at his home in Fort Collins, Colo., July 6, 1922. He was born in Orleans county, New York, Jan. 14, 1843, coming to Iowa in 1867, and settling in Poweshiek county. Here he resided until 1893, when he moved to Fort Collins. Mr. Bushnell experienced all the vicissitudes of the early pioneers and aided in developing this country from a wild, uncultivated state to its present rank as one of the finest agricultural sections of Iowa.

Mr. Bushnell was born in Orleans county, N.Y., Jan. 14, 1843, and died at Fort Collins, Colo., July 6, 1922, aged 79 years, 5 months and 23 days. When 15 years of age he came to Geneseo, Ill., where he lived until March 1, 1867.

He was united in marriage to Ardella E. Emery, May 23, 1864. To this union 11 children were born, three dying in infancy, followed by the mother on Sept. 23, 1890.

In 1891 he was united in marriage to Mary E. Yattan.
