MR. MASON
DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Earle Mason, 60, of El Monte, Calif., died at the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach, Calif., May 21.

He was born Dec. 6, 1912, at Newburg, the son of George and Martha Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of 5242 Buffington Rd., El Monte; two brothers, John of San Diego and Robert of Rte. 3, Grinnell.

Mr. Mason was a retired 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served aboard the USS Maryland at Pearl Harbor during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack.
