FUNERAL SERVICES HELD
FOR CLIFFORD SHAW

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home for Clifford E. Shaw, 77, of Rte. 2, Malcom, who died Saturday morning, Feb. 14, at Grinnell General Hospital after being hospitalized for nine days.

The Rev. James Davidson, pastor of the Malcom Methodist Church, officiated at the services. Vocalist was Mrs. Marilyn Stahl. Organist was Mrs. Kathleen Heffner.

Members of the flower committee were Mrs. Paul Stone and Mrs. Raymond Peters.

Pallbearers were Preston Shaw, James Puls, Claire Meyer, Marvin Cummings, James Kriegel and Donald Griffith.

Burial was in Pleasant Township cemetery at Ewart, Iowa.

The son of Preston and Minnie Lamb Shaw, Mr. Shaw was born Nov. 18, 1892 at What Cheer, Iowa. He attended the rural schools in the What Cheer and Sheridan communities.

On July 30, 1915, he married Lila Cummings at Newton. Since their marriage the couple has lived and farmed in the Malcom community for the past 54 years. Mr. Shaw retired from farming 11 years ago but continued to live on his farm.

Survivors include his wife, Lila; a daughter, Mrs. Clair (Opal) Wells of Grinnell; two granddaughters, Rhea Wells of Des Moines and Rhonda Wells of Grinnell; a sister, Mrs. LeRoy (Velda) sanders of Montezuma, and his nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Price Shaw; two sisters, Sybil and Della Meyers; and a nephew, Bill Shaw.
