FRANK JOHN BOUMA

Frank John Bouma, who died Oct. 18, on Monday evening at 10 o'clock at his home in Grinnell, was the son of the late Benjamin and Nettie M. Bouma. He was born May 17, 1902 near Lynnville where he spent part of his life before coming to Grinnell.

He graduated from Lynnville high school in 1922. He was a member of the Methodist church and the IOOF Lodge.

Surviving are his devoted wife, Clara; one brother, Robert T. of the border patrol in Canada; three nephews, Robert T. in Colo., Richard in Washington, D.C., and Henry, who lives with his father, and two nieces, Doris of California, and Jean of Wis.; and a host of relatives and friends.

For the last few years he was in partnership in the West Side Service center market and station.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 22, at two o'clock in the Methodist church with Rev. John DeLong in charge. Ed Bohstedt, organist, accompanied Mrs. Harvey Gause, Mrs. Ozro Dearinger, Homer McDowell and Wayne Stanley who sang "When it's Good Morning up There and Good Night Down Here" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Flower bearers were Mrs. Tom Clark and Mrs. Shirley Dale and pallbearers were Jerry Carter, Tom Clark, Glen Brignon, Gysbert Byers, Earl Mitchell and Frank Mitchell.

Interment was in Woodland at Lynnville by his parents.

Coming from a distance for the services were Mrs. Walter Shimer, Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Leslie Latz and Donna Stemsrud of Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Alertson and Marlyce and Mrs. Alfred Hansen of Northwood; Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Byers of Muscatine; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dexter and Mrs. Ellsworth Burch of Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kraxner of Walcott; in addition to those from Sully, Kellogg, Lynnville, Montezuma, Malcom and Searsboro.
