CLARA BOUMA
DIES AFTER
RECENT ILLNESS

Mrs. Clara Olga Bouma, resident of Grinnell most of her lifetime, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 21, following an illness of several weeks. She was 49 years old.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. John DeLong officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood cemetery.

Born in Sioux county, Iowa, March 25, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Berger Stemsrud and Olia Mabel Christianson. She came to Grinnell with her parents at the age of two.

A housewife, she was affiliated with the Methodist church.

She was married to Otto Summers in 1923. He died in 1925. In 1936 she was married to Frank Bouma, who died on Oct. 18, 1954.

Surviving are her mother, three brothers, Lawrence Stemsrud of Minneapolis, Bert O. Stemsrud of Montezuma, and Clinton B. Stemsrud of Webster City; three sisters, Mrs. D.H. Black of Montezuma, Mrs. Walter I. Shimer of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Leslie Latz of Waukegan, Ill.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Dwight James Summers, who died in infancy, and her father, who died in 1940.
