CAROL ADKINS

Carol R. Adkins, 64, of Searsboro died Sunday, Feb. 15, at Grinnell General Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon, with the Rev. Kerry Lake of Union Mills Christian Church officiating. Burial was in West Liberty Cemetery.

The daughter of Carl and Mamie Helmer, she was born July 3, 1933, in Iron River, Mich. She was raised and educated in Portland, Ore., and was a 1976 graduate of Mt. Hood Community College with a degree in accounting.

She was married to Chuck Adkins Aug. 1, 1976, in Vancouver, Wash., and they moved to the Searsboro area. She worked as a payroll clerk for the Donaldson Company in Grinnell before finishing her career as a homemaker. She was a member of the Grinnell American Legion Auxiliary and the Grinnell Eagles Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Larry Floyd of Searsboro and Richard Floyd of Milwaukee; fur grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Skeeter Floyd; one daughter, Cheryl Ferrell; three brothers; and one sister.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
