PEARL WIETING

Pearl Wieting, 83, of Seeland Park, Grinnell, died Friday, March 29, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service was conducted Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Following cremation, burial of the ashes will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Carl and Jenny Johnson Lofgren, she was born June 19, 1914, in Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a 1933 graduate of Sioux Falls Washington High School and a 1936 graduate of Sioux Valley Hospital Nursing School in Sioux Falls.

She was married to Kenneth Wieting Oct. 27, 1937, in Sioux Falls. She was employed as a registered nurse at Sioux Valley Hospital's surgical unit for several years. She and her husband later moved to Estherville, and in 1978 they retired to Bentonville, Ark.

They moved to Seeland Park in 1990. Mrs. Wieting was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in various church circles and women's organizations.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Kay Davoux of Grinnell; one son, Roger of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ellen Anderson and Florence McKee.
