MRS. RACHEL JEFFS
DIES IN OKLAHOMA

The Herald has received notice of the death in Norman, Okla., of Mrs. Rachel Jeffs, aged 87 years. Mrs. Jeffs passed away last Thursday at her home 427-1/2 College ave. as a result of heart trouble. She had been a resident of Norman for fifteen years.

Mrs. Jeffs, with her son Royal, lived on a farm four miles from Newburg for seventeen years and were well known in that vicinity. They also lived for four years in Grinnell where the son graduated from high school in ????.

The son is now Dr. R.E. Jeffs, associate professor of botany in the University of Oklahoma at Norman and is the only survivor of the immediate family. He suffered a nervous breakdown last summer and is not teaching this semester. He has often visited Grinnell to look after business and The Herald has enjoyed a number of pleasant calls from him.
