CLEM F. LISOR

Clem F. Lisor was born Dec. 22, 1894, in Grinnell, the son of George and Anna Lisor. A sister, Lillian Lisor Richardson, and his parents preceded him in death. He passed away suddenly Thursday morning August 5 at his home on Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, Ind., of a coronary thrombosis.

Clem spent his early life in Grinnell. During his high school days, 1911-1914, he was a star on the Grinnell high school football team.

He enlisted in the Navy during the First World War and served for a number of years. After his discharge he accepted a position with the Grinnell Washing Machine company as a salesman for the New York and New England states territory.

On June 15, 1921, he was united in marriage with Hazel LaRue Ritter, daughter of the late Harry Ritter, Sr., and Mrs. Ritter, who still resides in Grinnell.

Mr. and Mrs. Lisor lived in Syracuse, N.Y. for several years, then moved to Des Moines where Clem joined the Penn Controls, Inc., in August of 1925. When the Penn Company moved to Goshen, Ind., in 1937, he continued with the company, and at the time of his death was in his 27th year in an executive capacity as service manager.

Clem was a prominent Mason, belonging to the Blue Lodge in Goshen, Ind., the Scottish Rite, 32nd degree, South Bend, Ind., and the Shrine (Mizpah Temple) in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was also a member of the Goshen lodge No. 798 B-P-O-E Elks and of the Goshen Legion Post No. 30.

He held membership also in the Goshen Methodist church.

He served on the Goshen city council for several years.

He is survived by his widow and one son, Clem F. Lisor, Jr., of Syracuse, Ind.

Funeral services were held in Goshen Saturday with the Elks lodge performing its impressive ritual. Masonic and Legion rites were performed at the burial service in Hazelwood, ceremony Monday. The service ended with the sounding of "Taps."
