MARGARET F. COLLETT

Margaret F. Collett, 89, of Grinnell died Friday, Dec. 4, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. John Freeman of the First Church of the Open Bible officiating. Pallbearers were Blaine and Heath Collett and Corey, Troy, Jeromy and Justin Stevens. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Ottumwa.

She was born Nov. 5, 1909, in Ottumwa to William and Cassie Mabel Foy Stevens. She was married to Orville W. Collett Sept. 13, 1926, in Ottumwa.

Mrs. Collett was a resident of Ottumwa until 1973 when she moved to Valley Springs, S.D. She later moved to Canton, S.D., before coming to Grinnell in 1986. She was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Qualkinbush of Ft. Wayne, Ind., one son, Bill of Grinnell; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Townsend of Ottumwa; and one sister, Fannie Carruthers of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte Collier; one son, Darrell; her parents; her stepfather, William Townsend; two sisters, Charlotte McDaniel and Helen Sullivan; and one brother, Earl Townsend.
