MR. DUFFUS SERVICES SET

Clarence H. Duffus, 71, of 515 Thirteenth Ave., Grinnell, died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Ogata, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Organist will be Betty Ann Battey. Pallbearers will be Ronald Baltisberger, Bo Battey, Richard E. Dean, Myron Henke, John Mann, and Harold Pierce. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brooklyn.

Memorials in Mr. Duffus' name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church and left at the Smith Funeral Home.

The son of Arthur and Ethel Carmichael Duffus, he was born Oct. 9, 1912, near Brooklyn. He attended rural school in Madison Township and later farmed in that area.

He was married to Lillian Paul on April 9, 1938, in Brooklyn. The couple farmed west of Brooklyn and east of Grinnell before moving to Brook Side Farm south of Malcom where they farmed for 31 years. They moved to Grinnell in May 1982.

Mr. Duffus is survived by his wife; two children, Janice Price of Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Marvin Duffus of Whittier, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Lona Connell of Brooklyn and Pearl and Marie Duffus of Des Moines.
