LOUISE C. ALLELY

Louise C. Allely, 88, of Des Moines died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 of a heart ailment at Hospice Kavanagh House in West Des Moines.

Mrs. Allely was born on Dec. 23, 1912 to Arthur and Sophia Porter in Grinnell. When she was 3-1/2 years old she made her home with Dr. and Mrs. E.B. Williams, her great-aunt and uncle, of Montezuma.

After graduating from Montezuma High School with the class of 1929 (the first class to graduate from the new grade school and high school building). Mrs. Allely received a college degree and was employed by the county Superintendent of Schools.

On January 1, 1936, Mrs. Allely married Alton Allely. After farming for several years in the Montezuma area, she moved with her family to Des Moines in 1957 and became a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Richardson and Susan Garnett, both of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in 1993 by her husband, Alton.

Her body was cremated and no services are planned. Local arrangements were made by Brooks Funeral Care in Clive, Iowa.
