SERVICES HELD

Martha Hawkinson, 90, aunt of Marsha Bachman, who has been a houseguest in the Bachman home, died Monday, Dec. 12, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 15, at First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa with Dr. Ralph Andersen officiating. Burial was in Ottumwa Cemetery. A memorial has been established at the First Lutheran Church. Reece Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Aug. 16, 1898, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Nels and Ela Pearson Hawkinson. She was a lifelong resident of Ottumwa and had been a bookkeeper for Harper McIntire Hardware for 49 years, retiring in 1968. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and a member and past president of Quota Club and was a member of the Iowa Care Review Board for nursing homes.

Survivors in addition to Mrs. Bachman include a brother Reuben Hawkinson, Ottumwa.
