WILLIAM STOUT
RITES FRIDAY

William Arnold Stout, 60, of Des Moines, formerly of Grinnell died Tuesday evening at his home.

The son of William A. and Flora A. Nichols Stout, he was born May 17, 1914, in Grinnell. He attended the Grinnell public schools. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army. For the past 37 years he had made his home in Des Moines. Mr. Stout was a truck driver and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 710 in Chicago.

Survivors include one son, James F. Stout of Thornburg; a daughter, Patricia Stout, a student at Central College in Pella; one step-son, Dwaine Lucas of Keswick; two grandchildren, Danny W. Stout and David J. Stout, both of Thornburg; and one sister, Mrs. Irene Holland of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Olga Josephine Mitchell who died Sept. 2, 1968.

Graveside services for Mr. Stout will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. John W. McCallum, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Rites will be conducted by Marion Gibson, commander, and Edwin Richardson, chaplain, and members of the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit.
