ALICE PRIEST

Alice Priest, 89, of Celina, Tenn., formerly of Grinnell, died Saturday, Aug. 20, at Clay County Hospital in Celina.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Charles E. and Nevada Martin Neff, she was born Nov. 22, 1904, in Hedrick. She was a graduate of Hedrick High School.

On Aug. 6, 1939, she was married to Guy W. Priest at New London. Following her husband's death in 1951 she moved to Grinnell where she worked as a bookkeeper for Mitchell Motors and as a receptionist at the Smith Funeral Home. She retired in 1984 and moved to Lakeland, Fla., and later to Celina.

She is survived by four nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Frank, William "Sam" and Charles "Gene" Neff; and four sisters, Lulu Bennett, Mildred Cessna, Mary Neff and Harriet Rinden.
