JESSIE HANNA HAYS

Jessie Hnna Hays was born in Tama county, Nov. 10, 1877, daughter of Willam and Alberta Smith Hanna.

She received her education in rural schools in Iowa and Nebraska and attended Leander Clark college in Toledo, Iowa.

On September 30, 1919, she was married to Charles W. Hays, with whom she spent a number of happy years. He passed away July 15, 1944.

She joined the Methodist church when a young girl and was always an active member until her death.

She was a member of Chapter B.M.P.E.O. and Daughters of the Union Veterans.

She leaves to mourn her passing a step-daughter, Mrs. Lehrl Fritz of the Bethel neighborhood, three grand children, Joanne Merritt of Washington, D.C., Charles and Stephen, two sisters-in-law, Grace Hays of Grinnell and Mrs. Fred McKenzie of Mariah, N.Y., three nephews, Vern Hanna of Detroit, Mich., Howard Hanna of Manassas, Va., and Robert Hanna of San Antonio, Tex., and many other relatives and friends.

She passed away Nov. 30th, at the Community hospital after a brief illness.
