--William LaGrange was born in New Salem, Albany County, N.Y., on Sept. 22nd, 1838, and died Dec. 1st, 1900, at 11 o'clock a.m. He was the son of C.C. and Magdaline LaGrange, and was one of a family of seventeen children. Of these four died in infancy and thirteen grew to manhood and womanhood. He now leaves four brothers and six sisters, a wife with six sons and one daughter to mourn a kind husband and father. Mr. LaGrange had been a member of this state for a little over 49 years having settled in Scott county in 1857. For about 15 years he had lived in Grinnell, a hard working man. He had been ill several months. The funeral was held at the house yesterday morning conducted by the Rev. G.E. Morphy. Interment was in Hazelwood.
