LAROY BUDD RITES TODAY

LaRoy L. Budd, 66, of 325 Sixth Ave., Grinnell, died Monday afternoon at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Budd were held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Russell, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers were Everett Armstrong, Raymond Bangham, Virgil Case, Virgil Doud, Darrell Stimson, and Noel Taylor. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Charles and Lulu Slayter (Slater) Budd, he was born May 13, 1912, in Grinnell. He attended schools here and was a lifelong resident of the community. Mr. Budd had worked for General Telephone Company of the Midwest, the former St. Francis Hospital, the Morrison-Shults Mfg. Co., and the Maytag Co. He was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

There are no immediate survivors. Mr. Budd was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Everett.
