SERVICES HELD
FOR MRS. STANLEY

Mrs. Joan Stanley, 47, wife of Kenneth Stanley of Palestine, Ill., died Monday at her home near Chicago.

The daughter of Arthur Edward and Lida Werhli Baum, Mrs. Stanley was born April 27, 1920 at St. Louis, Mo. She was a 1942 graduate of Grinnell College.

On June 17, 1942, she was married to Kenneth Stanley in Grinnell. To this union was born one son, Barton Stanley of Palestine, Ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley had lived in Palestine the last six years, where Mr. Stanley was associated with the English faculty of Maine Township East high school in Park Ridge, Ill.

Survivors include her husband and son, one granddaughter - Yvonne Marie Stanley, and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Floyd Stanley of Grinnell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stanley were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Custer minister of the Grinnell Methodist church, officiating.

Organist was Mrs. Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers were Rolla Brignon, Raymond Mitchell, Marvin Steenhoek, Max Stanley, Harold Stanley and Virgil Stanley.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.
