HAZEL M. STANLEY

Hazel M. Stanley, 82, of Grinnell died of Alzheimer's disease Sunday, Jan. 8, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Ray Standerwick, pastor of the Westfield Church, officiating. Organist will be Alice Renaud, and pallbearers will be Keith, Gary, Eldon, Jack, Ken, Brian and Chad Stanley and Lawrence Ficek.

Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or to Westfield Cemetery.

She was the daughter of Fred and Anna McClain Weaver, and was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Jasper County. She was a graduate of Gilman High School.

On Dec. 25, 1929, she was married to Harold Stanley at Marshalltown. The couple farmed southeast of Grinnell.

Mrs. Stanley attended the Grinnell United Methodist Church and the Westfield Church.

She is survived by two sons, Max of Albion and Virgil of Truro; one daughter, Linda Ficek of Center Point; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Alma Kirby; and six brothers,, John, Howard, Harold, Elmer, Frank and Fred Weaver.
