JOHN MOORE WAS
BURIED HERE SUN.

John Moore was born in the state of New York in 1854, passing away on his farm near Indianola, June 3, 1927.

In an early day Mr. Moore's family came west settling in Scott Co. near Davenport, where he grew to manhood and married Ida DeCamp.

Mr. Moore and wife moved to Grinnell about 1880 and continued to live in this community until about 1914.

For about five years he operated a wheat farm in Canada, then back to the farm near Indianola.

Mr. Moore's entire life was spent on the farm, and he was very active until about six months ago when he suffered a stroke, since which time he has been confined to the house.

Mr. Moore's immediate family all survive and consists of his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Stella Moore Simpson and Mrs. Orella Moore Hanna.

He is also survived by two sisters and four brothers, Mary Leobina of Kansas City, Mrs. E.P. Waller of Hutchinson, Mathew Moore of Denver, Henry Moore of Nome, Alaska, James Moore of Purple Springs, Canada and T.B. Moore of McHenry, N.D. Interment was Hazelwood cemetery, Sunday, June 5, from Snyder's chapel. The services were conducted by Rev. E.M. Vittum. Many beautiful floral offerings testified to the remembrance of friends.

The following life-time friends acted as pall bearers: Will Nelson, Mark Sturgeon, Fred Whitaker, James Buswell, and Floyd and Garland Eichhorn.

The following from out of town were here for the services: Will and Frank Luchsinger of Evansville, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hulsizer, Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Weston and family, and Mrs. Aree Watson and daughter Ruth, all of Des Moines, and J.L. Clevenger and sons Cecil and Herbert from Indianola.
