Otis L. Davis, 61, of Malcom, died Wednesday afternoon in Malcom as the result of a grain elevator accident, which occurred at the Malcom Farmers Co-op Elevator.
The son of Samuel and Maggie Sleeth Davis, he was born July 17, 1906, at Dean, Iowa. He received his education in Appanoose County at the Bond School.
On July 4, 1930, he was united in marriage to Lola Pease at the Methodist parsonage in Tama. Following their marriage they lived near Tama, Marengo, Montezuma and for the past four years they have lived in Malcom, where he was employed at the Malcom Co-op Elevator.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Roger of Knoxville, and Kenneth W. of Tama; two grandchildren; three sisters, Susy Swarts of Moulton, Flossie Binns of Des Moines, and Myrtle Starr of Moulton; and four brothers, David M. of Oskaloosa, Oral of Montezuma, Lester of Oskaloosa and Thurman of Montezuma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gaylord Francis, who died in infancy; two sisters, Orpha Kirby and Mary Kozliskie; one brother, Edwin, and one grandchild.
Services were hefd Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home and burial was in Haven Cemetery, near Tama.
