ERMAL C. HILL

Ermal C. Hill of Sun City, Ariz., 92, a long time resident of Grinnell, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Hospice of the Valley at Sun City.

The eldest of nine siblings, she was the daughter of Iver D. and Ruth M. Davis, born June 7, 1920, at Malcom. In 1942 she married Max Hill, who preceded her in death in January 2000, after 68 years of marriage. They enjoyed there many years of retirement in the warm sunshine of Sun City.

Ermal was a graduate of Malcom High School in 1937 and was employed by Iowa Department of Transportation in Grinnell.

She is survived by sisters Jean (Merle) Bates of Fort Worth, Texas, and Beverly (Leonard) Dowdell of Huachuca, Ariz. She was preceded in death by brothers Iver Jr., Dwight, Richard, Robert and Charles, and sister Corinne (Bob) Howard.

Ermal donated her body for scientific research and cremation.

A summer interment date at Hazelwood Cemetery will be determined later.
