Beatrice "Becky" Kay Anderson, 67, of Grass Valley, Calif., and formerly of Los Angeles died Nov. 6, 2007, at Grass Valley

A graveside service for Beatrice Kay Anderson will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell, with the Rev. Len Eberhart, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating.

Born June 24, 1940, in Grinnell, she was the daughter of Vernon "Cap" and Maxine Rollins Anderson. While she was still an infant, her family moved to Los Angeles, where she was raised and educated.

Following high school, she was employed with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She retired in 2003, after 38 years there as a department head, and moved to Grass Valley.

She enjoyed visiting relatives in Iowa and would travel here frequently as a child and throughout her adult life.

She is survived by aunts and uncles, including Juanita and Paul Ahrens of Grinnell, June and Paul Gregory of Altoona and Naomi De Hart and Alice Anderson, both of Kellogg; and several cousins, including Jill Hulse of Cedar Falls, Larry Hulse of Des Moines and Marc Hulse of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.
