MRS. ANDERSEN SERVICES TO BE HELD TODAY

A Grinnell woman was found dead Monday of what authorities said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Grace Anne Andersen, 23, of 1217 Third Ave. was pronounced dead at the scene by Poweshiek County Medical Examiner Dr. Robert Carney. The body was discovered by Mrs. Anderson's husband, Mark, when he returned from work.

Funeral services for Mrs. Andersen will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home east side facility, with the Rev. Robert Gamble of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Rev. Ernest Elzey of the Kellogg-Sully Lutheran parish officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers will be Duane Andersen, David Collum, Mark DeGreef, Jeff Harter, Steve Sadler, and Alan Shiveley. Burial was at Our Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg.

A memorial has been established for Mrs. Andersen's children and may be left with the family at the Smith Funeral Home.

She was born Oct. 7, 1954, at Belmond and attended elementary schools in Nashua and Des Moines. She attended Grinnell High School. She had lived in the Grinnell and Newton areas the past eight years.

On Dec. 6, 1975, she was married to Mark Eugene Andersen in Kellogg.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Elisha Grace and Aaren Elizabeth; her mother and step-father, Nadine and Bruce Collum of Grinnell; her step-grandmother, Mrs. John (Sophia) Collum of Grinnell; two sisters, Mary Jacqueline Finn of Grinnell and Mrs. Steve (Rusti) Lyman of Bend, Ore.; and a brother, John Charles Robinson of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Joseph Finn; an infant brother, William; and her grandparents.
