WARREN H. DENISON

Warren H. Denison was born June 18, 1870, in the town of Berne, Albany county, N.Y., the son of the late Leonard and Alida (Cook) Denison. He died at his home in Grinnell, Monday, Aug. 2, 1956.

While attending Antioch college at Yellow Springs, Ohio he met and married Abbie E. Burnham on June 22, 1896.

He was called to his first pastorate at Troy, Ohio, and began an 11 year ministry there on Nov. 3 and was ordained Dec. 13, 1896. Since his ordination he has held many church posts in different parts of the nation.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha of Yankton, S.D., and Mary (Mrs. Judson Fiebiger) of Grinnell and one son, Harold of Columbus, Ohio. His wife and a son Paul preceded him in death. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a sister.

Funeral were held in Grinnell in charge of the James Funeral Home, Wednesday, Aug. 29, in the Congregational church. Officiating were Rev. Leland Mann, Rev. Cyril Hicks and Rev. Judson Fiebiger.

Further services were held at Troy, Ohio with burial in the family plot at the Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers at the Grinnell services were Rev. Victor H. Keiser, Rev. H. Lee Jacobs, Rev. Elmer Galt, Warren T. Fiebiger, Carol Flanagan and Paul Kiesel. Organist was Norman Goodbrod.
