Resident’s Mother Died

Services for Margaret Tone of Grinnell were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 29 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery. Mrs. Tone, 70, died of cancer Thursday at St. Francis Manor Nursing Home, where she has lived since May.

Born in Montezuma, she lived in the Grinnell area most of her life and was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Among survivors are two sons Roger Close of Grinnell and Chuck Tone of Baytown Texas; two daughters Barbara Orr of Brooklyn and Charlotte Beeler of Colfax; a brother, Harold Zorn of Iowa Falls; five grandchildren and a great grandchild. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Des Moines (IA) Register or the Newton (IA) Daily News Thurs 1 Aug 1991.
