Edith L. Lee, 99, of Riverton, Wyo., and formerly of Grinnell, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the Help for Health Hospice Home.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at a later date at Westfield Cemetery, in Grinnell. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Riverton Senior Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Riverton Senior Center, Riverton Animal Shelter, or the donors' choice in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.

Edith L. Bahrenfuse was born on Nov. 23, 1914, in Grinnell to Frank Henry and Anna Jenkins Prosser Bahrenfuse. She grew up and went to country schools in Poweshiek County in the Grinnell area.

She worked as a waitress in many places including in her hometown of Grinnell, as well as in Newton and in Corpus Christi, Texas. In her earlier years she also worked at Vernon Company in Newton and at Delavan Company in Des Moines.

On July 29,m 1963, she married Harold M. Lee in Casper, Wyo. Together they worked on the Joe Donlin Ranch in Arminto, Wyo.

She enjoyed collecting antique glassware, growing flowers, going to garage sales, and politics. Throughout her life she had many special pets.

She is survived by many relatives, including her nephew Robert "Barney" Bahrenfuse of Grinnell and his family, and her dog "Babe."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Bahrenfuse; her husband, Harold Lee; her brothers Raymond and Clair Bahrenfuse; and her infant brothers, Ralph and Harold.
