FLORENCE JOHNSTON

Florence Reams Johnston, 89, Sioux City, died there Thursday, Nov. 25.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Sioux City. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 12:30 p.m. at Sheridan Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 30, 1903,in Malcom, the daughter of James Wood and Belle Sterling Reams. She was a graduate of Malcom High School and attended the former Iowa State College in Ames. She taught rural school and was employed at The Maytag Company in Newton. She was married Nov. 7, 1937, in Sioux City to Roy Johnston. They resided n Jackson, Mich., and West Lafayette, Ind., before returning in 1946 to Sioux City. Mr. Johnston died in 1981.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jo Koetters, Sioux City; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother Ralph Reams and one sister-in-law Edna Reams, both of Grinnell.
