ALTON ROSENQUIST

Alton Rosenquist, 83, of Grinnell died of a liver ailment Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. John Epperson, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Stephen and Joyce Reams, 1433 West St., following the service.

An Alton Rosenquist Memorial Fund has been established.

The son of Emil and Amy Richards Rosenquist, he was born April 1, 1912, in Manson. He was a 1929 graduate of Manson High School.

He was married to Gladys Geminder Aug. 27, 1935, in Des Moines. The couple lived in Manson until moving to Grinnell in 1959. Mr. Rosenquist was employed here by Triple S Plumbing. He retired in the mid-1970s, and moved with his wife to Cherokee Village, Ark. They returned to Grinnell in October 1994.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Sally Bennett of Richmond, Va., Judith Hoefing of Peoria, Ill., and Joyce Reams of Grinnell; one sister, Harriett Schulz of LuVerne; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Reka Rosenquist; and four brothers, Dale, Robert, Richard and his twin Allen.
