'SHIRLEY' KAISAND

Vera "Shirley" Kaisand, 85, of Grinnell died Sunday, April 29, at Friendship Manor.

A private family graveside service was conducted Wednesday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. John Epperson, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating.

The daughter of Wilber G. and Vera Faye McMichael Dobson, she was born July 19, 1915, in Montour. She was raised and attended school in the Montour area.

On Feb. 3, 1932, she was married to Floyd Kaisand. They farmed in Tama and Poweshiek counties, retiring from farming in 1962. They then moved to Grinnell where Mrs. Kaisand worked for Grinnell College's Housekeeping Department for 22 years, retiring in 1985.

Surviving are her children, Norma Cloyd of Hudson, Sandy Gregory of San Ramon, Calif., and Robert of Spring, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two children, Floyd Junior in 1999 and Sibyl Reeves in 1997; her parents; and four brothers.
