LAMOILLE BAILEY

Lamoille Bailey, 81, of Grinnell died Monday, Dec. 22, at St. Francis Manor.

A graveside service for Mrs. Bailey was conducted Saturday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Homer Perry of the Mayflower officiating. Pallbearers were Marvin and Shelby Burkett, Ryan Duncan, Chris Polly, Ed Sanders, Kenneth Saunders and George Wilson. The Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Elva Shroyer, she was born May 21, 1916, in Searsboro. She was raised by her grandparents in the Searsboro area and was educated in the Searsboro School District.

She was married to Cleveland Duncan prior to World War II and lived in Nogales, Ariz. and Rock Island, Ill., before returning to Grinnell in the late 1940s. While in Grinnell, she was a homemaker and worked for several years at the Monroe Hotel.

She was married to Perry Lee Bailey July 1, 1960, in Princeton, Mo., and the couple lived in Grinnell. Her husband died in 1988, and she had been a resident of St. Francis Manor since 1992.

Surviving are one son, Ronald Duncan of Grinnell; one sister, June Baldwin of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Bunea and Clara; and one brother, Lester Wilkerson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
