DR. FRANCIS E. MUNGER

Dr. Francis E. Munger, son of Francis E. and Julia-Marie Munger was born August 6, 1879 at Osage, Iowa and passed away on October 10, 1965, at Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of 86.

He received his education in the Sioux City high school and the State University of Iowa. He entered into the practice of dentistry at Bayard, Iowa in April of 1903. After retiring from practice he moved to Grinnell in 1938 and assisted his son-in-law, C.N. James in the operation of the James Funeral Home.

He was a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic lodge, receiving his 50-year membership in 1955, the Grinnell Kiwanis Club, serving as president in 1940; and the Men's Club at the Mayflower Home.

He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. C.N. James of Grinnell and Mrs. E.H. Sibley f Sioux City; and six grandchildren--Frank and Susan James and Samuel E., Edward M., William F. and Thomas Q. Sibley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services for Dr. Munger were held Tuesday morning, at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Beebe officiating and interment was in the Highland cemetery at Bayard.
