PASSES AWAY

John Gallagher, 84, died Sunday night about 11:30. Mr. Gallagher had been in a Grinnell hospital for the past five years in failing health.

Before that he had lived in Brooklyn for 60 years. He formerly had lived in or near Irish ridge south of town, and of later years had lived in town. Mr. Gallagher never married.

Several brothers and sisters have been residents of Brooklyn and the Gallagher family have been among our best citizens.

Mr. Gallagher was an uncle of D.P. Collum of Kansas City, who arrived Tuesday for the funeral services, which were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's church, with Rev. E.W. Barron in charge.
