REGGIE LEE CAMPBELL

Reggie Lee Campbell, 68, of Grinnell died Wednesday, Cot. 20, 2010, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of life service was held Monday, Oct. 25, at smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Susan Sanning officiating and burial following at Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Reggie Lee Campbell Memorial Fund in care of Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

He was born Jan. 5, 1942, in Ottumwa, the son of Earl and Emily Sammons Campbell. He attended school there, then received the Associate of Arts degree from Des Moines Area Community College. He had owned several businesses including Rent-a-Wreck, City Limits and Best Western, then retiring from his position at Iowa Workforce Development.

He was united in marriage with Darlene Walther in August, 1987; together they adopted Jenny on her 16th birthday. Following an illness, Darlene died in May 2002. Later, on Aug. 8, 2005, he was united in marriage with Sheila Goodrich in front of a fireplace he had built.

He is survived by his wife Sheila; four daughters, Christina Jones of Dumont, Carol Perdoma, Jenny Shirk and Jessica Ahrens of Grinnell; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Darlene "Dar" Campbell; his brother, Ralph "Bo" Campbell and his sister Thelma "Sally" Crane.
