DARRELL STIMSON MEMORIAL SET

Darrell E. Stimson, 67, of 13414 Marceline St. , San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Feb. 15, at Northeast Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Raymond C. Lott officiating. Organist will be Alice Renaud. Honorary pallbearers will be William A. Bryan, Jim Buck, LaVaughn Cram, Gordon Halverson, Floyd Heishman, Eugene Lang, Robert Scandrett and Dean Strand. Burial will be at Sheridan Cemetery.

He was the son of Edgar Eugene and Iva Alena Graham Stimson and was born on Dec. 25, 1920, in Sheridan Township. He was a 1938 graduate of Grinnell High School and attended Iowa State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

On Nov. 30, 1947, he was married to Dolores Clemans at Marion. They lived in Grinnell where he owned and operated Stimson TV until his retirement in 1981. The couple had lived in San Antonio since December 1986.

Mr. Stimson was past president of the Grinnell Rotary Club, the Jaycees and Toastmasters and was active in the Grinnell United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores, and two sons, Craig E. of San Antonio and Martin L. of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gilford in infancy.
